Klim Arsenal 15L backpack review ︱Cross Training Enduro
www.crosstrainingenduro.com Our review of the Klim Arsenal 15L Backpack. When it comes to backpacks, a common problem in Australia is finding a good quality backpack that has good ventilation and is secure over rough terrain. Enter the Klim Arsenal 15L backpack. Jeff has used this in all sorts of conditions - the beach, the desert, adventure rides and enduro rides. As usual, we will cover what we like and don't like about the Klim Arsenal Backpack. The ventilation. When your body is straight, there is plenty of air circulation. When you are leaning forward, there is plenty of padding, mesh and air spaces for maximum ventilation.... fantastic in summer. The Klim's curved shape also helps if you are carrying a lot of weight. There is an internal frame that helps to place the Klim Arsenal Backpack weight on your hips, not your shoulders. The waist strap is easy to adjust. Unlike a lot of current backpacks, it isn't made in China. This is good to see! All the Klim Arsenal Backpack materials seem to be very high quality. 500D Cordura for the exterior. Reflective Scotchlite for safety on the road with the Klim Backpack. A removable rain fly. The 15 litre capacity is only the mid-sized Klim backpack, but it has worked well so far for adventure and dirt riding. The Klim front pockets are easy to access and also have back padding. There are outer mesh pockets too. I asked Jeff what he didn't like about the Klim Arsenal Backpack. He said the mouth nozzle is very sensitive and needs very little pressure to activate. He tried storing it in this mesh pocket but it would leak with the slightest pressure. He is considering using a different nozzle. I pressed him for criticisms and that was it. He says the backpack has been incredibly comfortable and well worth the money. The Klim Backpack price will be an issue for many riders. Jeff is planning a pile of adventure trips overseas, as well as enduro riding every weekend. So he says paying extra for comfort, quality and durability is a no-brainer. But others who ride a lot less may want to look at budget backpacks. I googled around for complaints about this Klim Backpack. I could only find one. The earlier models didn't have good airflow but this has been fixed. Remember to see our pinned first comment for long-term comments. If we do come across any long-term problems we always post these in the pinned first comment of our UA-cam video reviews. So that's our review of the Klim Arsenal 15L Backpack! My current backpack is on its last legs so I think this will be my next backpack as well.

Like a lot of manufacturers Sherco seemed pretty dodgy with some of the claims... especially claiming their four stroke 300 was lighter than the 300 two stroke lol. I think they are playing it safe now and just not publishing them? They have slowly lost a bit of weight over the years but generally just a bit heavier than the KTMs and Betas. But lighter than the Rieju.

How are Motoz, either mountain or arena, doing in the mud? I've tried a gummy rear from michelin and it really didn't suit me. It was so squirmy, that I've had very hard time feeling the back. It had poor traction in the mud and on my road transfers, it was hard to lean over and unstable. Incidentally, as long as I feathered the gas, it wouldn't get much eaten up, even on asphalt.

Also have a look at the Australian made products from Propower based in Queensland. Radiator guards, carbon fibre exhaust guards, rear disc guards and frame guards for European models. propowerinternational.com We've used quite a few of these over the past decade - very tough and often cheaper than the rest. Worth looking at even if you are overseas. Free international postage and the Aussie dollar is pretty low compared to the greenback.

If you don't need an adjustable guard also look at the Australian made Propower linkage guards. They have no adjustment but are rock solid and a fair bit cheaper than the Fastway. My brother tried to destroy his on a Beta RR250 for years by slamming into rocks and logs and couldn't lol. propowerinternational.com/x-link-shock-guard AUD299 so probably only around USD210 and free international postage. Available for Beta, KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas.

Try compression knee braces instead of rigid plastic. With side support. They won't put pressure on the femur. Similar to the braces weight lifters use.

add 10 ounces of flywheel and the power is way smoother , kx 500 s had more power with the power valve and a much better transmission for offroad use.

Dunno if you're joking about the wheelie gene, but I have actually heard people say this (regarding mountain bikes...but still). Truth is, if you aren't practicing multiple times a week, it's not enough.

Great video! Big bores are so much fun, and not nearly as hard to ride as people think. I have one of the BRC500's and love it. The electric start, powervalve, and counter-balancer put it head-and-shoulders above any other big bore I have ever owned or ridden. It so cool that BRC, Tomasin, and Panthera are all dedicated to keeping big 2-strokes alive.

I'm not sure that the graphic about center of gravity is correct. When sitting almost all the rider's weight is on the saddle. Standing, it’s all on the pegs. The legs are significantly lower than the saddle. Therefore the moment-arm is shorter and the CG is lower.

Lots of debates online, Michael. I've seen some pretty complex arguments from riders with a physics angle and the occasional equation lol. If I redo this video at some point I would probably now say there are at least two contrasting opinions about it all and summarise both...

@@crosstrainingenduro I can see an opposing argument; that being that if you're standing and clutching the bike with your knees and hands, then the CG will be higher. However, I'm pretty sure that if you are maintaining a vertical (to the ground) riding position and not death gripping the bars, that your CG all be lower. Thanks for your response!

I always bring my Garmin Inreach and send share my tracking with family and friends( none of them ride). I would ride with others if they sold their Cruisers and bought something nice...lol.

Cruisers! Each to their own but it's hard to see the attraction of riding in a smooth straight line once you've been into dirt bikes lol.
